How to apply for a Job at Gragg Advertising

Posted by patrick on October 14, 2009  |  1 Comment

One of the many things Gragg Advertising is known for is our continued growth as a Kansas City advertising agency. For 12 of the last 14 years Gragg Advertising has made the “100 Fastest Growing Companies” list in Ingram’s magazine. We get repeated requests for tips on how to best apply for a job and interview at Gragg Advertising, so we decided to come up with a little cheat sheet for our process.

Steps to the Gragg Advertising application process:

  1. Check www.careerbuilder.com and/or www.graggadv.com for Gragg Advertising job postings
  2. Submit a resume through CareerBuilder or send it to recruitment@graggadv.com.
  3. If your resume and qualifications meet the needs of the job you’re applying for, an electronic interview (e-interview) will be sent to you.
  4. If an e-interview is sent to you, fill it out to the best of your ability and email it back to Gragg Advertising in the designated time allotted.
  5. If your answers to our e-interview questions meet the qualifications, we’ll invite you to meet face-to-face with some of our management team.
  6. During the interview process the managers will ask you questions based off of your answers to the e-interview questions.
  7. If your interview goes smoothly and the managers like how you answered the questions – and in general, if you gave them the “WOW” factor – we’ll either contact you with a job offer or invite you back for a second interview.
    1. If offered a job at Gragg Advertising:
      1. i.      You accept – WELCOME to Gragg Advertising!
      2. ii.      If you decline – bummer – we’re sorry not to have you on our team.
    2. If asked back for a second interview, you’ll meet with either the President of the company and/or or the Agency Director.
      1. i.      If you give the President and/or the Agency Director the “WOW” factor, we’ll contact you with a job offer.
        1. You accept – WELCOME to Gragg Advertising!
        2. If you decline – bummer again – we’re sorry not to have you on our team.

So there it is. Gragg Advertising has a pretty simple, yet deliberate, application and interview process for finding the most motivated and talented advertising professional in Kansas City. We’re hiring now for positions throughout the agency, so be sure to check in about job opportunities at Gragg Advertising!

Gragg Advertising hits up the CCST Annual Conference

Posted by patrick on October 13, 2009  |  No Comments

Gragg Advertising was in attendance at the CCST Annual Conference, which was held October 6-9 in Austin, TX. The conference was a great combination of industry learning and networking.  School representatives had a variety of education sessions to attend like “Maximizing Employee and Organizational Performance”, “The Importance of Technology in Marketing”, and “Improving Student Attitudes”.   Reps from Gragg Advertising also attended several other activities held in the exhibit hall.

Outside the typical conference activities, there were also some extras that attendees enjoyed.  Gragg Advertising reps hit our share of balls at a golf tournament on Wednesday morning.  Some were late due to being taken to the wrong golf course (I was one of those lucky contestants).  The Chairman’s Reception also provided extra fun with the Captain’s Game.  This gave attendees the opportunity to either evade “mystery shooters” or shoot darts at the guarded “captain” in order to win free drink tickets.

Overall, the conference was a success and I hope to attend for years to come.
